Oracle 21c has only CDB-PDB Architecture

Published by Ahmad on

  • The non-CDB architecture was deprecated in Oracle Database 12c (12.10.2).
  • It is desupported in Oracle Database 20c. Oracle Database 20c was the first CDB-PDB release. Now there is no Oracle Database 20c.
  • Hence, Oracle 21c will be now the first CDB-PDB only release.
  • Oracle Database 21c is the first Oracle database release with CDB-PDB only architecture.
  • You can’t have a non-CDB in Oracle 21c anymore.
  • Oracle Universal Installer can no longer be used to create non-CDB Oracle Database instances in Oracle 21c.
  • Starting with Oracle Database 21c, installation of non-CDB Oracle Database architecture is no longer supported.

Thanks

With Best Wishes!!!!
