GoldenGate Interview Question Set-2

My DBA Community,

My today’s post is very important for those who are looking for a job and preparing for an Interview. GoldenGate is a very hot technology these days. That’s why I am writing GG interview questions.

I hope these IQ will help you.

1)-Scenario: Replication for the new table – 100 GB Export took – 2 hr SCP – 1 hr Import Took – 1 hr Total time 4 Hrs, later you realized that you didn’t enable supplemental logging. What will happen?

2)-What should be your approach for replicating the whole Database?

3)-If DDL replication is not enabled what should you do while performing DDL at source?

4)-What is the checkpoint table? Why we add only at the target side? What information is stored in the checkpoint table?

5)-Why you need INITIAL Load?

6)-What if my transaction is long and it is not getting fit in trail file?

7)-Scenario: Extract up à 10:45 am Now at 11:00 am someone stopped the extract for 3 hrs. Now the current time is 3 pm à extract is still stopped. If I start the Extract at 3:05 pm, which point it will start? 11:00 am or 3:05pm?

8)-What should you need to take care of before stopping an extract?

9)-Scenario: If source DB gets crashed and data is still in the trail, what will happen to PUMP and EXTRACT?

10)-Source is available, and a switch is made from primary to standby and has targeted as well, that point there is a gap in archive log files. How it will work?
