Direct Upgrade to Oracle Database 12c
A direct upgrade is one where either the Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA) or command-line upgrade script is used to upgrade your database to Oracle Database 12c.
Direct upgrade is supported when the source database is running one of the releases shown in the following table.
